Alex Hollinshead selected for West Midlands Archery Team in regional match

Alex Hollinshead selected for West Midlands Archery Team in regional match image

In an exciting development for the club, our very own Alexander Hollinshead has earned the honor of joining the Junior West Midlands Archery Team (U18) in the upcoming WMAS v EMAS regional match on September 21st.

Alex recently managed to get two, six gold ends during a competition. One at 60 and another at 50 yds!

The match will feature archers competing in a double WA720 round, a rigorous round involving 72 arrows being shot. As it's a double, this equates to a whopping 144 arrows! The Junior squad that Alex is on will be shooting at a 60m distance, which requires both precision and consistency. This year, the event will be hosted by EMAS at the Bowmen of Glen AC.

Being chosen for the West Midlands team is a significant achievement. It reflects Alex's individual talent and hard work and he will be supported by his fellow archers from the club.

Alex has always been a promising talent in the sport. He recently won the Gold at the County Junior Handicap following the last of the Heritage shoots at Audco Archers, during which he also managed to get two six gold ends. One at 60 yards and another at 50 yards.

All eyes will be on Alex as he continues to climb to ranks in the sport of Archery.

Good luck, Alex! Your hard work and determination are sure to shine in this exciting competition on 21st September.
